Overview
- Know and apply the most advanced philosophical, sociological, psychological and educational science concepts and theories of child development and learning, and interpret educational and educational activities from an interdisciplinary perspective.
- They will be able to critically evaluate and realise in the group of pupils and in the society the educational and cultural values of the nation and the European Community, the priorities of the implementation of the educational policy, the experience of the most advanced countries, the principles of humanistic, democratic and civil society, sustainable development, achievements of science and technology.
- The student will be able to identify topical problems in the field of pre-school and pre-primary education, to collect, analyse and systematize research data, to rely on the modern achievements of the science of education science and psychology, educational research methods and to make effective decisions related to the education of a child of pre-school and pre-primary school age.
- They will be able to develop integrated pre-school education programmes that are responsive to the needs of families, the diversity of children and their learning outcomes, and that are oriented towards different educational models, and to follow the principles of programme quality management.
- To be able to create educational environments for preschool and pre-school children to develop health, social, communication, cognitive and artistic competences in an integrated way.
- Be able to reflect, plan and organise an open and respectful preschool and pre-school education process based on respect for the child, parental involvement, dialogical interaction, evidence of children’s achievements, and to create situations for individual and group development of children.
- In the education of pre-school and pre-primary children, be able to take into account their age-related abilities, motivation, educational achievements and needs, learning styles, linguistic diversity, foreign experience, family culture, social situation, educational contexts, and to provide professional educational support and feedback to the children and parents.
- The student will be able to apply strategies of child education and learning based on modern scientific and didactic achievements, methods of assessment and evaluation of achievements, new information and communication technologies.
- Be able to strengthen the national, civic and cultural identity necessary for professional activity in the context of globalisation, to participate in the processes of change in society and education, to argue for professional and non-specialist decisions, to communicate in their mother tongue and in foreign languages (at least C1 level), to use modern communication technologies.
- The student will be able to act, learn, assume a leadership role in collaborative groups, educational support teams, social partnerships with the family, coordinate project activities, participate in institutional, professional and local community networks.
- Have a strong professional identity, motivation for professional, creative self-expression and lifelong learning, a sense of social responsibility and tolerance for diversity.
- The teacher will be able to learn independently, reflect on his/her educational activities and their results, create and innovate in the field of pre-school and pre-primary education, taking responsibility for the impact of his/her professional activities and their results on the well-being of children and their development, as well as on the reduction of cultural, social and educational exclusion.
Career opportunities
Graduates of pre-school and pre-primary education studies without specialisations will work as teachers and pre-school educators in pre-school education institutions, schools, children’s giftedness education, children’s entertainment centres, family counselling centres, child and family support institutions, and as educators of children undergoing medical treatment. Educators will be prepared to set up private educational institutions or groups and to provide private educational services for children. Pre-school and pre-primary educators with a specialisation in special education will work in pre-school and pre-primary education institutions or groups in schools, multifunctional centres or other formal and non-formal education institutions as pre-school teachers, pre-primary educators and/or special educators of institutions. Pre-school and pre-primary educators with a specialisation in social pedagogy will work in pre-school and pre-primary education institutions or groups in schools, multifunctional centres or other formal and non-formal education institutions and NGOs as pre-school teachers, pre-primary educators and/or social educators in institutions, as coordinators of integrated educational support and/or child welfare programmes
