Overview
The aim of study program „Hydraulic engineering“– training highly qualified specialists of engineering, who are able to conduct scientific or applied research, to use advanced scientific methods for evaluation of water engineering structures as water supply and wastewater treatment plants, polders, dams, ponds, pumping stations, drainage, hydraulic and other structures, and their environmental impact, to integrate knowledge of different fields in solving theoretical and practical problems of water resources engineering, analysis and simulation of environmental changes and processes of engineering nature.
Programme structure
Main study subjects:
Technology of Irrigation and Drainage, Numerical Modelling of Hydrologic Systems, Hydropower, Reconstruction of Hydraulic Structures, Computer Design of Hydraulic Structures, Management of Investment Projects, Spatial Data Analysis, Urban Hydrology, Restoration of Disturbed Water Ecosystems, River Hydraulic Structures and Research, Construction Law, Optimization of Civil Engineering, Methodology of Research.
RESEARCH WORK
The programme offers graduates opportunity to third cycle studies. They can apply advanced scientific methods and modern information technologies in assessment of water management structures and their impact on the environment, integrate knowledge from different fields for research on durability of hydraulic structures, physical and numerical modelling of hydraulic processes, temporal changes of water balance and hydrological modelling and forecasting.
EXCHANGE PERIOD ABROAD
Students, who are willing to study in other European universities, have possibility to select exchange studies or traineeship abroad for one semester at 90 European universities (ex. Vienna University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Ghent University, Czech University of Life Sciences, Hohenheim University, Technical University of Munich, Athens Agricultural University, Padova University, Palermo University, Lasalle Beauvais Polytechnic Institute, Valencia Technical University, University of Algarve, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Akdeniz University, etc.) getting the monthly scholarship.
Career opportunities
Graduates have an opportunity to work as designers, experts, consultants and supervisors in:
• water engineering design institutions, civil engineering companies;
• water, environment and hydraulic structures management institutions;
• consulting firms in the field of water engineering;
• education and research in the field of water engineering.
